Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept bags Best Concept Award

Auto maker Hyundai that showcased its first luxury saloon, Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept at the 2013 NAIAS in Detroit has been selected as the Best Concept in 2013 NAIAS Editor’s choice Awards. HCD-14 has ruled out Ford Atlas and BMW 4-series in the Autoweek’s voting process.

According to the Autoweek’s editors, the Hyundai’s new offering Hyundai HCD-14 may soon become the production version of the Genesis sedan, this will require the auto maker to reach a new level of technical know-how and sophistication.

This year at the Detroit Motor Show, editors voted for 59 vehicles which were revealed, selecting the best in the show – most significant, best concept and most fun vehicle.

2013 Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept

Chief designer Hyundai Design North America said that they instilled Genesis with the premium sport 4-door coupe. The vehicle hires sleek and light weight interiors, driver centric cockpit and safety without overloading the infotainment button. The HCD-14 Genesis shows the spiritual design that can be considered for the premium product lineup. This will help the company to focus on developing instinctual understanding between man and machine.

Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis considers state of the art driver hand gesture recognition and eye tracking, thumb controls and gesture controls that can be used to select navigation, audio, infotainment, smartphone connectivity and HVAC. Another feature like windshield heads-up Display (HUD) allows for minimum driving distractions. The vehicle features Hyundai Tau V8 engine with direct injection.
