Based on the bespoke trend, Hyundai launched i20 Active in Mumbai today for a price of Rs 6.69 lakh.
Based on the same platform of i20 Elite, the Active version differentiates itself by high ground clearance of 190mm, skid plates on front and rear, new bumpers, fresh fog lamps, daytime running lamps infused in the headlamps cluster beneath projector diodes, differentiated front grille, unique fuel-cap, tail-gate mounted spoiler, roof-rails and R16 diamond cut alloy wheels. The cabin too was nicely covered in black fabric contrasted by orange for the darker paint shades. The lighter shades receives black and blue theme. The cooled glove-box and rear AC vents are the unique features like its automatic key and push-start button. The steering gets telescopic and tilted adjustable function along with the driver’s seat adjustment. Rear parking sensors, ECM display for better vision of rear, impact sensing door unlock system, ABS and dual-airbags are some of the safety features seen in the top-end variant.
In the engine bay, power delivery is done by a 1.2-litre petrol engine of 83PS and 11.7kgm of torque. In diesel, the Active is more powerful than the other by delivering 90PS and 22.4kgm of torque. The petrol motor is mated to a 5-speed manual, where the diesel turns up with a six-speed manual.
