The burgeoning competition in sedan segment made us to see the new Honda City (including diesel), diesel automatic trims of Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid, and even the Maruti too came up with its new offering called Ciaz. The race doesn’t end here, the last verdict can be delivered only after seeing Hyundai’s new Verna which is bound to launch in India on February 16, 2015.

Its most adored Fluidic looks will be retained. The same model which was rolled out in Russia will be brought here. The nose shall see the change with new headlights. And fog lamps are also entitled to get daytime running lights. The rear portion will not be tweaked; it will be the same as it is now on the current-gen. The model sold as Hyundai ‘Solaris’ in Russia gets LED in tail lamps which we can expect for India too.

Changes too are confirmed of carried under the skin. The light power steering of sedan is under scrutiny to deliver better response and get that slightly gritty feel it, which is recommended for driving a sedan of this class. Electric connections to the steering are being worked upon, said a source.

The cabin is expected to undergo a sea of change in terms of new fabric and materials used, whereas the design is likely to remain the same. Small correction in the change of price is expected.

Talking about the past of Hyundai Verna, it fluidic design model was rolled out in India during 2011. Since then, no updates were given to keep it afresh until August 2013. It was only a minute tweak which included retuned suspension setting. Hence, after those so long years this will be the major change this Hyundai sedan will see.
