Mahindra has finally launched its XUV500 in Nepal with the price tag of 5.3 million Nepali Rupees (which is approximately Rs. 33.15 lakh) through the official Mahindra dealer in Nepal. The Indian SUV maker has launched all three versions of the SUV in Nepal. The top of the line version W8 AWD has been priced at 6.15 million Nepali Rupees (about Rs. 38.37 lakh).
Mahindra is currently manufacturing XUV500 for sale in Nepal at its Chakan plant neat Pune and offers the same features, engine and specifications as its Indian brother. The XUV500 has been based on the Monocoque construction and is powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk engine that churns out about 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via six speed manual gearbox.
Most of the cars that are sold in the Nepali market are imported from India and due to the prevalence of high tax structure in Nepal the vehicles cost more than double of what it costs in India.
