GPS navigation, location apps and Digital maps company, MapmyIndia, has now enabled services to a number of Indian car models that include Tata Indigo, Honda City, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Manza, BMW 7, 5 and 3-series, Ford Endeavour, Jaguar-Land Rover, Fiat Linea and Renault Scala. The company claims to have upgraded its navigation solution to induct latest 7.1 version of maps in it.

The map covers over 7.1 million places, 600,000 towns, 1.9 million kilometers of road, 4751 cities with details about streets, 39 cities with house level information and 36 cities with full 3D models. In addition to all this the map also provides features such as lane guidance, junction view, live traffic, regional voice guidance and regional maps.

Executive Director, Map My India, Mr. Shivalik Prasad, said that the year 2012 has witness an exponential increase in the use navigational services in the automotive platform with over 200,000 cars now scheduled to come pre-equipped with the built-in navigational system in India by next year.

The navigational system from Mapmyindia like portable navigators, CarPads, GPS navi-tainment system and in-dash system are one of the best-selling devices. Map my India has already made over 140,000 sales of these devices through their network of more than 1500 car showrooms and car accessories shops across the country. He also added that company is very happy to strengthen and increase
their relationship with the leading car manufacturers in India to provide GPS navigation befits to the consumers across the country.
