It was a time when Alto bagged the crown of the No.1 selling vehicle in the small car category. Now the replacement for the Alto, Alto 800 is all set to repeat the same success story. Maruti Alto 800 was launched nearly a month ago and since its launch it has created sale record for Maruti. On the single day of the Dhanteras, it recorded a booking of over 2000 units across India.

Maruti officials have said that Maruti have capacity to build about 25,000 to 30,000 units per month, so there will not be any time lag in the delivery. The older Alto was selling at a rate of about 30,000 units per month and for the new Alto 800 to get to these figures, it surely will take some time.
