That’s what we have waited for. The specification of Maruti Celerio diesel is leaked and it looks promising for the car to break every record across the sales floor in India. A source found saying the launch to happen in the first week of June, it is promised to deliver a fuel-economy of 27.62kmpl as per ARAI.
The engine to get fit into its bay is a 793cc diesel that produces 47bhp @ 3500rpm and 125Nm of torque @ 2000rpm, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. However, the Celerio diesel with a badge of DDIS125 badge will rival the cars of its segment like Chevrolet Beat and Hyundai Grand i10, but as both of them are done away with the three cylinder diesel engine and better torque figures. Yet, what Maruti had got on its hand is the outstanding mileage, which looks phenomenal as compared to others.
Hence, there are also speculations doing rounds about the AMT, but as nothing is confirmed. And by chance if happened, then the maker will get to offer the most inexpensive diesel automatic car in the country.
