Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 launched with a starting price of Rs.2.44 lacs

Maruti has finally its much anticipated Alto 800, in New Delhi today. The new vehicle is expected to replace the existing Maruti 800 and 800cc Alto. The vehicle has already received over 6,500 pre-bookings since the company started taking pre-orders for this particular vehicle.

Maruti Alto 800 is based on the same platform as the current gen Alto and shares much of similarities. However, the vehicle is also blessed with all new design to give it more modern appeal. The interiors have been improved with better quality plastics,  new and better steering wheels, AC controls and gauges inherited from Maruti other models.  It also has refreshed fabrics for the seats.

Under the hood, the new Alto 800 will be powered by the same 796cc engine which delivers maximum power of 48bhp and maximum torque of about 69 Nm, a slight improvement over the current Alto. However, the engine will be compiling with BS IV upgrade with new intake, lighter crankshaft, new pistons and higher compression ratio. Below you can see the specs of the Maurti Alto 800.  The car will be offered in six vibrant colors.

Maruti Alto 800 is priced between Rs.2.44 to Rs.3.56 lacs, putting it in direct competition with Hyundai Eon and TATA Nano. It has been launched in six variants (petrol and CNG), price of which are listed below:
