When the market is lying low, there isn’t any doubt that King may also have to face the consequences. Hence, Maruti here is no exception. And without any of the excuses it has accepted that, fall in sales compelled it to launch the ‘Swift XDi Exclusive Edition’ in Rajasthan, which seems appropriately priced at Rs. 6.67 lakh ex-showroom Jaipur.

In addition, the upcoming festive season may also have added the blister on the shoulder of Indian carmaker to bolster steep steps for its repertoire. Meanwhile, it seems the Maruti didn’t have any better way than the “Limited Editions” to get sales figures back on the track. Hopefully, the Swift maker now shall learn more of the tricks to sustain itself in the market, because in the coming days lines between higher segment and lower segment are going to blur, and the products from the top-of-line brand will soon start competing down-the-line ones, which may pose as a threat to the cost-efficient carmakers for India, where Maruti posses most of the shares in the said segment.

Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi Exclusive Edition

Coming back to the Swift XDi Exclusive Edition, one can avail the exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000 and Loyalty bonus of Rs. 15,000 on the car. Following are the features which can be experienced on this new yet assorted Swift:

  • Double Din Music System
  • Art Leather Seat Covers
  • Central Locking with Keyless Entry
  • Steering wheel with tilt function
  • Reverse Parking Sensors
  • Power Windows on the front doors
  • Door sill guards with illuminated Swift nameplate
  • ORVMs with integrated indicators
  • Wheel covers
  • Front fog lamps

All these above mentioned features come for a premium of Rs. 40,000 over the LDi variant, when being purchased separately in the market. Appropriately, even facing a rise in the price tag, the Swift XDi seems to be retailing for Rs. 35,000 lesser than the VDi variant.

However, on technicalities the Swift maintained itself intact. The 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine of 75 Bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque figure can be found there in the bay, assimilated with a 5 speed manual gearbox for delivering astonishing fuel economy figures.
