The race to number one position as a luxury carmaker has got the Mercedes-Benz India to launch number of cars for segregating its brand value against the rival to reach a wider set of audience. Alongside the launch of CLS 250CDI facelift with diesel engine today, the maker also delighted its audience by launching the topless version, we mean, Cabriolet trim of new E-Class. This time, the E-Class convertible has a better option to offer: E400, packed with a powerful yet creamy 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine under its hood charged by a turbo. Though, such a product isn’t a mass seller, and that’s the reason this German automaker has priced it steeply at Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The obsessed price against the hard-top version is due to it being imported as CBU (completely built units) – attracting high amount of import duties.

Nine airbags inside the cabin, after all it must be the standard as the machine churns out 333bhp of max power and 480Nm of torque via a 7-speed automatic transmission, clocking the top-speed of 250kmph whereas shuttling between 0-100kmph in just 5.3 seconds.
