Maruti compact SUV, internally codenamed as YBA, is spied for the first time in production-ready avatar.

The vehicle poses to be a direct rival of Ford EcoSport and its likes. The source even claimed it as possessing spare wheel at the rear. Design is clear-cut resembling to the Suzuki iV-4 concept unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013, which too has spawned into the Vitara. The floating roofline and rising waistline mimics the Swift hatchback, as that was easy for Maruti to cash upon the most-selling hatchback for regaining the lost ground. And the grille at front is even subtlety placed as against the aggressive vertical design of concept.

Angular headlamps on the front fascia are a bit new to the family, but raked windscreen and everything else is carried over from the Swift and whereas some from the upcoming premium new hatchback codenamed ‘YRA’.

Hence, overall length is touted to be less than 4 meters and would be admirable to draw the tax benefits in the country (meant for the categories of vehicle sub-4 meters).

Well, the Ecosport is bourgeoned with a full bunch of equipments so expect them here too. The unveiling may happen at Delhi Auto Expo 2016 and could be dubbed as iV4.

Engine options aren’t to be the new ones. They could be 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre Fiat’s Multijet diesel engine, with prices expected to be starting from Rs 5.5-6 lakh and top-end reaching the somewhere in the vicinity of Rs 8.5-9 lakh.
