New SEAT Toledo Concept revealed

SEAT will highlight its new concept car, the Toledo at the Geneva Auto Salon coming up in a couple of days.

The new concept is based on the design of the 1991 Toledo with a rear hatch. Toledo was previously designed as a MPV, while the new concept is a Saloon with hatch doors. This gives the car spacious boot and ease of access with seats folded up. Volkswagen Golf Estate features a spacious boot of about 551-litres. The Toledo is 50-litres short with 500-litre boot space, which is quite a volume for a saloon. Talking of space, the Toledo measures 4.48 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.6 metre. SEAT claims that the back seats can accommodate three passengers comfortably.

Front fascia has been restyled with more edgy and aggressive look. The uncluttered surfaces have a traditional SEAT resemblance. The interior gets two-tone leather seats with contrasting red stitching to complement the exterior. Also following the exterior line is the dashboard. Its neat with a touch of premium feel. On the front is a console that houses the touch screen audio and climate controls.

The concept model is making its debut at Geneva in a few days. However, it will hit the show rooms by the end of the year with minor tweak. A spokesperson was adamant that the production variant of the SEAT Toledo would be virtually the same as the concept. When launched, its pricing will be strategically placed between Ibiza and Leon. So we can be certain that the car will not be housing a very massive engine.
