Peugeot 2008 Compact SUV unveiled

The French auto maker, Peugeot has now officially unveiled soon to arrive 2008 Compact SUV prior to its debut that is scheduled at 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. The compact SUV will be in direct competition with the SUVs like Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport in the Europe and there is no chance of it to appear soon in Indian market as Peugeot has currently put its India plan on hold. So, it might take some time before Peugeot rolls out its products for Indian customers.

With 2008, Peugeot has mainly relied on the expertise it show and attained with the award winning 3008 crossover. All the experience and expertise has paid off as the perfect vehicle for the B segment. The vehicle is set hit UK market by late summer and the pre booking will start from June. 2008 is trying to ride on the success created by 208, that secured about 20,000 orders in the first six month of the its sale in UK.

The new crossover from Peugeot is the first ever vehicle that is being produced by the Ford Marque, that was developed and designed for several international markets. With the world wide objectives, the compact SUV propels the brand into a new line of development of crossovers. With the constant changing market scenario new brand of urban customers are emerging that are always on move. Most of the new breed of consumer is looking towards something that reflects their own personality.

Peugeot 2008 Compact SUV unveiled

Director General for Peugeot, Maxime Picat said that with 2008 Marque will be having a vehicle that will secure its leadership in B segment in Europe and a vehicle that has potential to lure new customers in markets like Latin America and Asia. The new crossover from the company offers extensive features and vivid experience in the category. Just 4.16m in length, 2008 combines the effortless driving of a hatchback and strength and space of a SUV. The vehicle is equally pleasurable to ride in city as well as on open road. With the wide and versatile nature the 2008 is sure to attract a wide audience. The company is planning to produce, 2008 close to the market in China at Wuhan facility, in Brazil at Porto Real and in France at Mulhouse plant.

With the introduction of 2008, company is becoming more product oriented and is trying to revive the success of 3008 with something that is new, innovative, urban and can win hearts of millions of customers with different preference all over the world. The latest generation of engine contains every blend of lightness, profiled structure combined with effortless and pleasurable driving experience with exciting fuel economy. The vehicle is equipped with the e-HDi diesel and a new 3 cylinder petrol engine, crossover march ahead of the competitors with the emission of just about 99g/km of CO2.
