Peugeot’s 208 T16 Pikes Peak car had just became a hero after crossing the course of Colorado in 8 minutes and 13.878 seconds. To go for more of the fame, the same car will also be seen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.
The Peugeot’s Pikes Peak car weighs only 875 kg and boasts the power of 875 horses making way for an astounding power-to-weight ratio of 1:1. The Colorado course is one of the toughest in this world and no one had crossed it in the timing of 8 seconds or nearby slot. Last record created on this American trap was concluded by Romain Dumas in the tap of 9:46:181.
Sebastian Loeb no doubt had driven the World Rally Championship by nine times, but commenting for the UK adventure he says, “Though the Goodwood hill climb is shorter at 1.16 miles and with fewer corners, it is nonetheless a challenging course driven by accomplished drivers in competitive vehicles.” In short it means this French national too had the aspirations for creating a record on this track.
