Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, the new Rolls with minute changes, which was unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2014 somedays back, is now touted to get launched in India by November 2014.
The sources of industry had confirmed this news. The changes that the Ghost Series II sees are the tweaked headlamps with daytime running LEDs, and satellite paired transmission. Hopefully, going by the terms, ‘satellite paired transmission’ it remains very much clear the gearbox is connected with equipments in space that will decide the shifting of gears to take place depending upon the conditions and roads that lays ahead. This same technology was firstly used on the Wraith.
Other than that, under hoods, it remains the same with 6.6-liter V12 pumping out 563 bhp and 780 Nm of torque. The acceleration from 0-100kmph takes 4.7 seconds whereas the top speed is 250kmph.
Earlier in the time for India, Rolls Royce had launched Ghost V-Specification in India with 30 more horsepower from the same engine for Rs 5.2 crore, and prior to that the Wraith had debuted for a price tag of Rs 4.6 crore.
As based on the same platform of BMW 7-Series the Rolls-Royce Ghost remains a strong competitor to Bentley Continental GT.
