The Czech based car major, Skoda, is proposing to stretch its arms in the nation and this time, the company is targeting Kerala for growth of its network. The auto manufacturer is now eager to set up three additional dealerships in Kerala within a period of 12 months.
The new openings will take its overall count to 9 dealerships as compared to the existing six outlets in the area.
Mr. Sudhir Rao, Managing Director of Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd made this declaration.
Mr. Sudhir stated that within a period of one year or so, they will establish a new showroom at Kottayam, accompanied by Kollam and Kannur by the coming year (2013).
He said that Kerala is a progressive zone that made up around 1.5% of the countrywide sales and the same is expected to be augmented by 5% in 2012.
The company is really confident about the state as it eyes to market 1,500 vehicle units in Kerala by 2012 as compared to 500 vehicle units sold during the last year (2011).
Mr. Rao noted that Skoda is planning to achieve 10% of the countrywide sales volume from the state. With grand luxury cars from Skoda Auto in India, Rapid made up 60% of the overall local sales, thus turning out to be the most substantial sedan model for the brand.
With broad network crosswise the country, the company possesses around 106 dealerships and now wants to hit a mark of setting up 150 outlets by the next three years.
Mr. Rao expressed, Skoda worldwide twelve monthly sales is approximately one million vehicle units and now its aim is to reach a sales figure of 1.5 million cars by the year 2018. As a result, now the goal for domestic market India stands at 1.5 lakh car sales by the year 2018 from present figure of 35,000 – 40,000 vehicle units.”
