New 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class rolled out at Rs. 41.5 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has rolled out the brand-new 2014 E-Class in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 41.5 lakh (ex-showroom, national capital).

This has been Mercedes-Benz India’s 3rd consecutive introduction for the consumers. It already introduced the innovative GL-Class sport utility vehicle along with A-Class premium hatchback.

Whilst the E200 CGI edition of the E-Class is valued around Rs. 41.5 lakh, the E250 CDI is valued at around Rs. 44.8 lakh.

Mercedes-Benz India has also rolled out a limited launch version E250 CDI at a price of Rs. 49.90 lakh.

The new E-Class arrives with the cosmetic up gradations. The vehicle looks similar to that of the vehicle introduced on this year’s Detroit Motor Show.

The most apparent transformation is the arrangement of the innovative bumper along with headlights, as the split headlight assembly is now twined in a single shape with light-emitting diode basics for the low beam as well as DRLs.

Mercedes Benz Soft Launched 2014 E Class in India at BIC

2014 Mercedes Benz E Class had made debut at 2013 Detroit Auto Show and is now finally making its routes towards India in the same avatar (of the international debut) but with an “unknown quotation of price tag”.

That’s true; Mercedes Benz had previewed it exclusively at the BIC over the weekend and had not stated its price for the Indian context. However, it is slated to go on sale here from 25th June 2013 and the organization hadn’t finally announced quotations for the audience to rely upon.

The preview was held for some of the exclusive MB customers who had stayed a strong pillar for the bespoken model plate throughout its entire life on Indian camping. And need not to say, the three pointed German auto brand had sold 800 numbers of E Series in the past quarter alone which they wanted to continue to write down this same success story in future as well, hence the 2014 version is the answer to same.

However, the event was termed as ‘Mercedes Corporate Star Experience’ and due to it company got an opportunity to meet its potential customers in an informal manner which had shredded light on how to make the ‘Star’ better in future.

Not much known from the soft launch but learnt 2014 E Class will made debut in two engine options, one each for petrol and diesel. The gasoline trim to be named as E 200 whereas the oil burner got to be tagged as E 250 CDI, whilst the ongoing E 350 CDI to get discontinued from the repertoire as soon as the launch may happen. It was just a couple of days back when we reported that Mercedes Benz is going to launch 2014 E Class in India on 24th June 2013, and now we got the news that the same model plate is spotted doing test rounds in Pune.

Hence it can be exclaimed, were on the right track about the launch speculations and hopefully the test rounds of same had bestowed us with more confidence on it.

Debuted at 2013 Detroit Motor Show, New E Class features amalgamated headlamps, refreshed front grille, new crisps on bonnet, revised front and rear bumpers and many more cosmetic tweaks to make a different stance than the present generation. Rear too had been snipped off very precisely so that exhaust tips may fall at proper place, which will help the executive attire to grab some more attention of sports sorted class even at the first stance.

However, it will be a cosmetic change rather than a technical one so the same 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 201bhp of power will be engulfed in the bay of E250 CDI.

Expectations also lay a more powerful version of similar diesel jag may follow its trait accompanied by a couple of petrol engines too in the same plethora. As then Indian audience is stretched vastly, so the combination of different engine will help the Germans to cover more of the aspects with a single stroke.

Mercedes-Benz reveals prices for the new E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet

Mercedes-Benz has now revealed the price of the new E Class Coupe and Cabriolet for the UK market. The starting price of the Coupe has been kept at  35,095 pounds and the Cabriolet has been priced at 38,465 pounds. The new E Class Cabriolet and Coupe features upgraded specs and revised looks. it is one of the most extensive model revision ever taken by Mercedes-Benz.

The vehicle are now about 21 percent more efficient and also features several new technological upgrades one of which is Stereo Multi Purpose camera that features two eyes that allows it to create 3D image of objects up to a range of 50 meters and assists with the different safety systems.

The new E Class Caoupe and Cabriolet is available in the two models; SE for the E 220 CDI engine and AMG sports which comes in 3 diesel engine (E220 CDI, E 350 BlueTEC and E 250 CDI) and one petrol version- E 200. Both the models for the Coupe and Cabriolet features standard features like COMAND online interface, DAB digital radio, partial LED headlights, speed sensitive direct power steering, active park assist, Collision Prevention Assist and Active Park assist.

In addition SE model also gets a 17 inch twin spoke alloy wheels, single lamella Sport grille, dark aluminum trim and leather upholstery. The Mercedes AMG Sports model receives 18 inches twin spoke alloys, upgraded front disk, AMG body styling, twin pipe exhaust, leather upholstery with multi-contoured seats, AMG steering wheel and AMG floor mats.

Both the models, Cabriolet and Coupe has got the revised appearance with the bi-xenon headlamps, in the single headlamp lens and Lamella sport grille. The new front bumper has more expressing V shape and bigger air vents. The rear part has been blessed with the new tail lamps and a wide rear bumper with the wing design. On the Cabriolet model the deflector and aircap now automatically engages itself on reaching the speed above 40 kmph and automatically closes down when you reach a speed of 16 kmph. The sound insulating roof can be opened or closed in mere 20 seconds.

For the new AMG Sports model there will be an option of upgradation to the AMG Sport Plus package. This will be available from October 2013 and will be priced at 1,795 pounds. This will consists of 19 inches bi-colour alloys, body coloured AMG boot spoiler, AMG sports seats in Artico/Dinamica with the red stitching, red coloured seat belts, AMG floor mats and red stitching on the door, centre console and armrest. Other equipment will include the full LED Intelligent Light System (cost 1,280 pounds), aragonite silver metallic paint (costing 645 pounds) and new leather furnishing in Espresso Brown, Bengal Red and Deep Sea Blue. The Coupe has been priced at 35,095 pounds and the cabriolet has been priced at 38,465 pounds in the UK market.

Perhaps the most significant product in the lineup of Mercedes-Benz, is going under a mid-life refresh. The German auto giant is going to have a relentless task of perfecting the already ultimate cruiser.

Joining the 2014 lineup of Mercedes-Benz are the restyled C Class and S Class, and the updated version of the iconic Mercedes-Benz E Class. The German auto giant is considering to reduce the overly decorative design cues while enhancing the E Class with top-notch technology.

On the exterior, the Mercedes-Benz E Class gets a new front end with subtle four-headlight layout, refined rear fenders and heavily modified rear view. Put it this way – the 2014 E Class borrows front doors, window and roof from the current variant, with significant updates to rest of the car.

In terms of technology, the new E Class features:

Improved night vision assistance that effectively alerts the pedestrians and crossing animals
Dynamic light assistance that dumps the previous bi-xenon technology for the more reliable fast-moving multi-directional LED pixels.
Intelligent lane assist that relates the lane of the car with on going traffic.
A congestion assistant, which will follow the vehicle ahead at speed of 40 mph, and re-route itself in directional and lane changes.
A revised magnetic ride control system that changes the suspension damping in accordance with road surface with help of stereo camera.
Head-up display with top-notch graphics and multi-color imaging.
Car-to-Car communication system that warns of approaching emergency vehicles or hazardous road conditions.

Power Plant:

E500 and E550 get a new 4.6-litre turbocharged V8 that pumps out 435 hp.
E63 AMG gets the same 5.5-litre V8 from current phase that pumps out 537 hp.
E350 goes up against the BMW 535i and Audi A6 with a 333 hp 3.0-litre Turbo diesel.
E200 is powered by a Renault-based 1.6-litre inline-four motor, that is uptuned by Mercedes to give 156 hp.
For European-bound E300, there is a new turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four replacing the current 252 hp 3.0-litre V6.
On the cleaner end, Mercedes offers a 27 hp electric motor for the E300 BlueTec Hybrid and yet to be launched E400 Hybrid.
Following this is a 68 hp plug in drive in 2014 and a 109 hp top-end variant in 2015.

There is a lot at stake here with the update of E Class. Will Mercedes please new customers without losing the likes of existing ones?
