The new Tata Zest will be showcased at the Indian Auto Expo 2014. This compact sedan is expected to be unveiled in New Delhi, on 3rd February. Another car that is also to be unveiled with the Zest is its hatchback sibling, Tata Bolt. Just like Tata Bolt can be called a redesigned version of Vista, the Zest can be called the sub four meter, facelifted saloon of the Tata Manza.

Both these cars, Tata Zest and Tata Bolt are based on the same X1 platform, as a result of which, at least up to the rear doors, the cars are more or less the same. The cars are expected to be powered by the same Fiat sourced 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel and the 1.2-liter turbo petrol Revotron.

One of the biggest surprises for the car enthusiasts will be the Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) in the Zest. The transmission system is said to be mated to the 1.2 Revotron engine. Tata Motors has plans of launching the Automatic Manual Transmission from the start of the sale itself. It is said that Tata Zest will be available to the customers in the showrooms before the Tata Bolt. Zest is expected to hit the showrooms by the first half of 2014.
