The state Government of J&K received a large number of applications for making Nano their local taxi. In response to this the Government called for the proposals from various interested parties.

Mr. Mehrak Khusroo, Transport Minister said, “We have received proposals from private players intending to use Tata Nano cab as a commercial vehicle to ferry passengers on the tariff being charged by the auto rickshaws.” He also added that the 624 cc cab will be equipped with temperature control devices like air condition and heater to suit the needs of all climatic conditions.

GPS system and electronic meter will also be added to avoid unpleasant service to customers.
