Tata Refreshes Aria For Geneva

Tata is the leader of our auto fraternity but for quite long time its product have been not doing well on our home ground. Reasons behind it can be said as the no-updated streaks or maybe all-similar looking designs. Though whatever it maybe, Tata was busy focusing on the HCVs which is the cash cow of its organization, and in recent times that segment too had witnessed heavy competition; it was on the priority list to upkeep those bulky numbers of (HCV) market shares.

Now in the chilling breeze of Geneva, Tata came up with updated version of Aria.

New Aria is far much better than its outgoing model. It boasts both technical as well as cosmetic changes. Engineers at the Tata R&D had tweaked engine form 138 bhp to 158 bhp by deploying a new type of turbocharger and ECU on the same 2.2 liter Safari based motor. To keep traction in control Aria at the Geneva platform is equipped with GM borrowed six speed automatic transmission, while one too can opt for the powerful six speed manual. Torque had also sprung huge in figures, swaps ranging from 32.63kgm to 40.78kgm, must say, truly impressive technicalities!

On aesthetic note two toned exterior paint job, black inserts on headlamps, daytime running lights, tail lamp inserts, 19” alloys and leather seats did a fabulous job on Aria’s European version. But our speculations says that it will first make debut in India and then later on in Europe.

Automatic transmission is a first on the Aria.

Tata was selling its crossover under the very Indian appealing, but as can be seen that Mahindra had taken all its credibility by rolling out 38,000 XUV 500 against 821 Arias from April ’12 – January ’13.
