Toyota reveals specifications for New Camry

There have been a lot of speculations about the new updated version of Toyota Camry 2012 that will be launched on 24th August. Putting an end to all the rumors, Toyota has finally revealed the details for the Camry. The price has yet not been revealed but it is expected to be in the same range somewhere around Rs. 23 to 24 lakh.

The existing versions were actually completely built units.However, the latest version is fully loaded trim CKU which could do a slight cut in the prices but Toyota will have to take into consideration factors like inflation, market condition and rates before announcing the prices. The new version will house a 16 valve DOHC 2494cc engine when compared to the current 2362cc variant. The vehicle will able to deliver a power output of about 178bhp at 6000 revs as compared to the current version that churns out 164bhp of power at 6000rpm. It will able to generate about 233Nm of torque at 4100rpm. Following the global inclination India would be getting petrol model for now. However, there is no news about the diesel variant.

The new Camry comes with enhanced exteriors to give this sedan more premium feel. The chrome radiator grills, automatic HID headlamps, chrome door handle, 10 spoke 16-inch alloys and body colored ORVM complete with electric adjust and retract; freshly designed taillights in combination with LED brake light give this car its peculiar stunning look.

The interior has also been adorned with touchscreen DVD display audio with AM/FM, engrossed with Bluetooth connectivity, amplifier and in-built mic, chrome inner handles, real stitching with leather trimming at the dashboard, day-night rearview mirror etc. The comfort and luxurious features has been garnished with rain sensors, climate controls, rear AC vents etc.

The new version does have several standard safety features like ABS with BA and EBD braking system i.e. Anti-lock braking system coupled with electronic brake force distribution and Braking Assist. This feature results in extremely safe and controlled driving quality. Further an impact sensing system has been installed that will cut off the fuel supply in case of impact, immobilizer with alarm, clearance and rear sonar system with illustration display allows comfort, safety and security of the driver at the same time. With all these new exciting features Toyota is really going for a big catch, and it will be just matter of time to know if this catch is worth it.
