Triumph has added a new bike to its India line-up. It has launched the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC at Rs.10.73 lakhs. In the international market the Scrambler is available in two variants – XE and XC. As of now only the XC version has been launched in India.
The Scrambler 1200 is built on a double cradle chassis. Wheels are wire-spoke 21-inch at the front and 17-inch at the back and braking duties are done by dual front discs and a Brembo M50 four-piston caliper and a dual-piston Brembo with a single disc at the rear.
When it comes to powerplant, the Scrambler 1200 borrows its engine from the Thurxton, only in a different tune at 90HP. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Other features include switchable traction control, ABS and a slip and assist clutch.
