Volkswagen Becomes the Bestselling Automaker in South China

Volkswagen, German automobile manufacturing company, which has a large ambition to become the international No.1 automaker, is now the best selling manufacturer in South China as per Karl-Thomas Neumann, Chief Executive Officer and President at Volkswagen China. According to Dr. Neumann, the market coverage of the company in South China has amplified from 12% in the year 2008 to 15.8% in 2011. In the meantime, plenty of Volkswagen dealers has increased 25% in these two years. The company hopes to break 2 million sales barrier in China in 2011, according to Executive Vice President for Volkswagen china, Mr. Su Weiming. VW has also planned to invest 14 billion euros in South China region in the beginning of 2012.

At the start of 2011, Volkswagen has marketed approximately 1.89 million cars in the country. Volkswagen branded cars made up more than 1.4 million of that number, while Skoda sales reported for 190,000 cars. Audi, another subsidiary of Volkswagen have already matched the 2010 total. Volkswagen is basically a German automobile manufacturing company and is the largest selling and original marque of Volkswagen Group, which now owns Audi, Skoda brands, Bentley, SEAT, Bugatti, Lamborghini and truck manufacturer Scania. Volkswagen was first established in the year 1937 by Nazi trade union, a German Labour Front.
