Volkswagen Taigun Launched With New Features | TPMS | Engine Start/Stop

Find out all about the updated Volkswagen Taigun, which gets a few all-new features. 

The VW Taigun is now offered with the Engine Idle Start/Stop and Tyre Pressure Deflation Warning as standard across all variants of both the performance line and the dynamic line. The Engine idle start/stop feature contributes to the improvement of fuel efficiency of up to 6% on the 1.0L TSi Engine which is offered in the Dynamic Line variant. The manual variant now offers fuel efficiency of 19.20 Km/L whereas the automatic torque converter variant offers 17.23 Km/L.

Apart from the technological updates, the Taigun gets cosmetic upgrades inside the cabin. The Performance Line now offers Wild Cherry Red décor inserts in the Wild Cherry Red Exterior colour whereas other exterior colours have the Armur Grey glossy décor inserts.

The addition of all these features makes the Taigun much plusher and more fuel-efficient than before. 

The Taigun is architectured on Volkswagen’s Modular Chassis Platform-the MQB AO IN, which is specifically designed for India. It is offered in both manual and automatic transmission, the 1.0 L TSi engine gets the Torque Converter Automatic gearbox, whereas the for the top-end, GT Plus variant with the 1.5L TSi engine, Volkswagen continues to offer the lineage of thrilling driving experience of their quick-shifting, Dual Clutch – DSG gearbox.

The 1.0L three-cylinder engine produces 115 HP & 178 Nm of Torque, whereas the 1.5L four-cylinder engine produces 150 HP & 250 Nm of Torque.

In terms of safety, the Volkswagen Taigun is equipped with electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, and reverse parking sensors.

As for comfort and convenience, Volkswagen offers the GT manual variant with a wireless charging pad, climate control, and cruise control. The automatic variant also gets  LED headlamps, 17-inch alloys, a start-stop push-button, a sunroof & a digital instrument cluster.

The Taigun is priced at Rs 11.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the base variant and Rs 18.60 Lakhs for the top-end variant.
