Customer is the foremost priority for any company and the same ideology is being followed by the German automaker Volkswagen which is working on increasing its regional parts distribution center in the country to tighten it’s after sale service and its customer relationships. After setting up of the current RDC at the Gurgaon, German auto maker has started works on the second RDC at Bhiwandi near Thane, which is scheduled to be completed by first quarter of 2014.
After the traditional Bhoomi Pujan ceremony at the center, the managing director of the Volkswagen Group Sales India, Gerry Dorizas said that the second center is being formed with an aim to enhance the relationships with the domestic customers. The center will be aimed at offering reliable after sale services to the customers. He also remarked that the center will be providing services to the eastern, southern and western regions that contribute to about 60 to 65 percent of the VW’s total sales by volume.
The facility will spread over an area of about 21,000 square meters and will be established with India’s state of art software called ET2000 used for warehousing. According to the company’s estimate, this part distribution center will be able to deliver the parts to western regions in about 24 hours and it will take nearly 72 hours for it to deliver parts to the dealers in the southern region.
