2012 Honda City launched in India

In line with its promise, Honda Siel Cars India has launched the eagerly awaited 2012 Honda City today in New Delhi. Along with its existing E, V and S models, the company has also launched a new variant called ‘Corporate’, which has been priced at Rs.6.99 Lakh. Pricing of the E and S variants have been kept at Rs. 7.70 Lakh and Rs. 8.20 Lakh respectively. While the V-MT variant has been offered at Rs. 8.70 Lakh; the V-AT variant comes to you at Rs. 9.42 Lakh. For the first time, the V-variants have been provided with the option of an electric sun-roof, fitting the same to the V-AT and V-MT would take up their prices to Rs. 9.50 Lakh and Rs.10.22 Lakh respectively. All the prices quoted are of ex-showroom Delhi.

2012 Honda City launched in IndiaChanges in design are evident in exterior components like the front bumper and grille, rear tail lamps along with the rear bumper that comes with reflectors. 10-spoke, newly designed, alloy wheels have also been provided. Turn indicators are now located in the rear-view mirrors outside. Interiors also look better with improved seating. The feature of cruise control has been additionally installed into the dashboard.

The latest Honda City is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.5L petrol engine with a maximum power of 118.4PS at 6,600rpm and a peak torque of 145Nm@4800rpm. The user will be allowed a choice of manual or auto transmission in the car’s 5-speed gearbox. The car is expected to give a mileage of 16.8km/liter. Driving and handling features include electric power steering, front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Ground clearance also increases from 160mm to 165mm.

2012 Honda CityTwo new color options have been added – Carnelian Red Pearl and Sparkling Brown Metallic. This is in addition to the four color options already available.
