2022 Kia EV6 Quick Review | Launch in June | Bookings Open |

Learn about the first EV from Kia, the Kia EV6. Kia India has started accepting bookings for the EV6 with a booking amount of Rs 3 Lakhs. The brand will officially launch the EV on June 2, 2022.

Kia EV6 will not be manufactured in India, which means the imported EV will cost high taxes, which eventually will lead to a high price tag.

Kia EV6 which will be introduced in India comes packed with a 77.4 kWh battery. The model will be offered in two configurations, a rear-wheel-drive single motor drivetrain & an all-wheel-drive with dual motors. The EV6 will develop 229 HP & 350 Nm of torque with the single motor and the AWD dual-motor model produces 325 HP & 605 Nm of torque.

In terms of charging capabilities, the EV6 can be charged with a 50kW charger which can recharge the battery from 10-80% in just 73 minutes & a 350kW fast charger can recharge the same in just 18 minutes. Speaking of the most important aspect of owning an EV; range, the EV6 claims a driving range of 528 Km. These figures are promising for buyers in the premium segment as until now there was no option for a high range luxury EV in India.

Considering the premium pricing and drivetrain options, the EV6 will be well equipped with features to justify its cost to the buyers. Kia has not entirely disclosed the feature list as of now. Still, it is expected to arrive with a premium 14-speaker Meridian surround music system, heads-up display, and Autonomous driving features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, & a blind spot monitor.

The imported spec EV6 receives a 5-Star safety rating from Euro-NCAP, along with 8-airbags and a host of safety features.

The Kia EV6 is expected to launch at a price upwards of Rs 55 Lakhs and will only be offered in the GT line variant. Based on the performance of the EV6 in terms of sales, the brand will further plan to assemble the EV locally in India, but for now, the EV6 remains a fancy imported unit.
