63-year old motoring enthusiast travels 26,500 kms in a TATA Nano

A 63 year old Kochi based motoring enthusiast Thomas Chacko has completed his dream journey of a national expedition with his Tata Nano. His 78-day long journey begun from Mumbai on 3 rd May, 2012 and after covering a distance of 26,500 kms it completed successfully on 21st July, 2012.

During this expedition Mr. Chacko had visited all of India’s state capitals and union territories. In this process, he had covered more than 100 of India’s towns and cities which include Kargil in the North to Kanyakumari in the South and Tawang in the East toDwarka in the West. In his journey, he also travelled on Khardung La which is at 18380 ft and Tanglang La, world’s highest and second highest motarable road. His journey also includes Nagpur, the geographical centre of India and Bhutan, the mountainous country.

About his incredible national expedition Mr.Chacko said that he chose Tata Nano only for this dream journey because it is this car that has put India on the world motoring map. This car can climb the mountains well and has a good ground clearance. This 78 day long all India drive has tested the Nano on all type of road conditions through a variety of weather situations.

He also said that his journey was not just a joyride but a journey to know the country and her people. Nano is a dream project and it is this car that can fulfil the dream of every person to own a car. This car has also fulfilled his dream of exploring India. For him this journey is not less than an achievement.
