Ford, a multinational American automaker revealed its concept version of much awaited EcoSport just a day before the beginning of 2012 Auto Expo. This small sport utility vehicle was later introduced at the aforementioned auto expo before heading on the tour of entire nation. Today, at last the automaker unveiled the EcoSport sport utility vehicle’s production version in Brazil, one of the most significant markets for the company. The interior of Ford EcoSport features a dashboard similar to that on B-Max and Fiesta models. Nevertheless, it gains differently designed aircon vents. You will also find a display situated at the center of dash with Ford’s SYNC system.

The Ford EcoSport offers comfortable seating capacity for five passengers, alongside abundance of space for cargo. It also features LED lights, while the spare wheel is located on the tailgate. It is based on B2E platform, which was designed and engineered by fused efforts from Mazda and Ford. The Ford EcoSport was designed keeping torsion rigidity and weight reduction in mind. Motivation for this small sport utility vehicle will come from a three-cylinder 1.0 liter DI turbo petrol powerplant. It will ultimately be marketed in almost 100 markets across the world.

The Ford EcoSport sports key sport utility vehicle cues, including signature spare wheel located on the tailgate and confident stance. The footprint is small enough for city, yet it is rugged and small enough for trips to countryside or mountains. Designed by the company’s all-new international design language, it fuses high ground clearance with the practicality and agility of a compact vehicle. The wide hood has a refined surface language which suggests a dynamic spirit of energy and honed strength in motion and sweeps into sculpted bodylines. Contemporary, oblique headlights frame a high mounted trapezoidal grille that provides it a signature Ford face and an element of pride. The blacked out B-pillars and steeply raked windshield amalgamate the side glass into one elegant shape, conveying a modern, clean profile, supplementing a shape honed in wind tunnel for efficiency.

On the whole, it will be available for the price range of between Rs. 7-9 Lakhs and should redefine the entry level sport utility vehicle class in India.
