Hyundai Grand i10 wins the Indian Car of the Year 2014

While on one hand Royal Enfield Continental GT won the Motorcycle of the Year award, the Hyundai Grand i10 won the Indian Car of the Year award for 2014. In comparison to other cars like Ford EcoSport and Honda Amaze, the Grand i10 moved up the list of cars, showing its list of features that makes it the car of the year. Grand i10 belongs to the B2 segment of cars for which the company had to start with a production expenditure of above 1000 crores.

The sales figure that the company achieved show clear signs of the extent to which the car has been appreciated throughout the country. Hyundai Grand i10 managed to show its capabilities in parameters like safety, performance, style, price, fuel-efficiency and technical innovation. Hyundai has managed to sell a little more than 35,000 units within three months of the car being introduced in the market, which happened in September 2013. Some of the other cars with exceptional features that were shortlist are Mahindra Verito, Nissan Terrano, Skoda Octavia, Mercedes Benz GL350, Chevrolet Enjoy and the BMW 1 series. Last year, the Renault Duster had won the award competing against other cars with advanced technology and great features. Maruti Suzuki Swift had managed to get this prestigious award in 2013.

Hyundai Grand i10 wins the Indian Car of the Year 2014

Comparing the most well-known bikes of the year, Royal Enfield Continental GT had to compete with Hyosung Aquila Pro and the KTM Duke 390 in order to get the prestigious title of being the Motorcycle of the Year. Its predecessor in the year 2012 was Honda CBR 250R and in the year 2013 was KTM Duke 200.
