It’s Official: Datsun India Launch on 15th July 2013

Going through the long escape from roving eyes of media houses, Nissan now finally spilled all the beans to us. The low cost brand “Datsun”, that the carmaker was planning to make in the recent makeshift is recently said to be revealing in front of the whole world on 15th July 2013. This official information is sent to us by the organization in a form of email which says, block this particular date to see the Datsun riding back again to the shores.

Only low cost markets like India, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa are slated in its proposition. Hence, the first lot of products that will roll out from the manufacturing bay will be a couple of hatchbacks (codenamed I2 and K2), which are presently taking shape under the knife at Renault-Nissan’s technical center in Chennai. Taking inclination from the present market scenario, K2 hatchback will be catering to the lower hatchback segment in terms with Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai Eon, Maruti Wagon R and many more. Nissan was lacking strongly in this plethora for quite long and therefore it makes sense when the brand will meet this type of mass oriented response at the initial stages itself.

Datsun to launch in India
Looking at the volume of Maruti, Nissan must have taken the stride very positively, most probably in the terms of localization to keep the costs under a tight check. Hopefully, can’t say much more on this topic but wait and watch till the further information arrives sounds a better motto here.
