Jaguar to Launch its First SUV by 2015: Report

In the times of SUVs, saloons are seeing a remarkable decline in their respective sales figures and Jaguar isn’t an exception for such. It too had planned a SUV to be rolled out in the near future. Being tossed in the speculations for last couple of years, Jaguar SUV will be coming to fraternity by 2015, confirms a report of a leading media house called Auto Express.

The official media filing also say that, Jaguar SUV is now in its advanced designing stage and the year 2015 seems perfect for the project completion.

Going further with it, we too came to know, the luxurious British SUV will be named as Q-Type or XQ (as both of the names are registered with European Union Trademark database) and will compete against the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in the immediate market scenario. Earlier we were made to known that Jaguar SUV may borrow the Range Rover Evoque’s platform, as both the car companies are being held by the same owner being called Tata Motors, but now it will be based on the Jaguar 3 Series rival’s platform. Going extreme with the Auto Express’ news again, it was ripped the upcoming SUV badge will abolish the lines between low-lying saloon and high riding SUV. Engine specifications are all about receiving the Evoque’s 2.0L turbocharged petrol and 2.2L diesel, re-tuned for extracting remarkable fuel economy figures at times.
