Land Rover Launches Freelander 2 Facelift at Rs.38.67 lacs

Land Rover has launched the facelifted version of its Freelander 2. The SUV is locally built and has received several key updates both inside and out.

On the exterior part, the vehicle has received notable changes that are mainly restricted to its headlamps which now boast of daytime LED running lights. The tail lights have now received Land Rover’s twin circular design, it now also comes with the new 17-inches alloy wheels restricted to the top of the line HSE trim and the vehicle now comes in three exciting colours.

The interior of the Land Rover Freelander 2 has received some really major changes, which start with the new revised layout of the dashboard that now features less switches and an electrical brake for parking. The Terrain Response System’s rotatory dial has been replaced with switches and the car now offers keyless entry as well. The SUV has also received a new 7-inches coloured touchscreen with a new satellite navigation system as well as a Meridian sound system. The rear camera has also been replaced with the new one which is now being offered as a standard equipment on the car.

Under the hood, the vehicle is still the same old beast. The Freelander 2 has continued the use of the same 2.2 litre engine that comes in two tuned version – the first one delivering 148 bhp of power and the second one churning out impressive power of 187 bhp. Both of these variants have been coupled with the six-speed automatic transmission system.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Vice President of Jaguar Land Rover India, Mr. Rohit Suri said that the Freelander 2 has proved to be an extremely popular model among the Indian customers and the new model Freelander 2 has extended its premium look and feel over to enhanced driving pleasure. He further said that the new model is a step forward for the Freelander 2, which comprises of the incredible standard equipment levels, safety, refreshed design and all terrain capability.

The new Freelander 2 is tagged with a price of about Rs. 38.67 lakhs for the base TD4 SE version and another top of the line version, SD4 HSE is available at the price of Rs. 43.92 lakhs. (Prices ex-showroom Mumbai).
