The Mahindra XUV500 fans wont have to bear with the agonizing 3-5 month delay to bring home this SUV. To cope up with the staggering response for the Mahindra XUV500, the Nashik plant will be enhanced to produce 3000 units a month. “We will be ramping up of production to 3,000 units per month,” Mahinda and Mahindra Automotive division Senior Vice-President (Marketing) Vivek Nayer, told the reporters.
The car received a booking of 25,000, a phenomenal response in just 10 days from the start of the second phase. In the first phase, the SUV grabbed a booking of 8000 units. We also brought you the news of the launch of new Mahindra Xylo on 8th of this month, and it was priced Rs 15,000 higher than the first version. This new and improved makeover of the first Xylo was developed in a project costing over Rs 50 crore. The MPV is available in 5 variants, and there were doubts that the launch of the new Xylo would cannibalize the market of other models of the brand. But looking at this move of Mahindra, it seems Mahindra has unparalleled domination of all its models in the market.
The laid down plan will be executed from March 2012. At present, Mahindra holds 27% of the market under Multipurpose Vehicle segment. And this latest update is a clear indication by Mahindra, that they are ready for more.
