Safari Storm launched by TATA at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo

It’s raining new cars at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. News just received confirms that Tata Motors has just unveiled its latest Safari Storme for the Indian market at the Auto Expo. This latest Safari had earlier been codenamed as Merlin. The Safari Storme has been provided with updates to its interior and exterior. Take a look at the exterior of this vehicle and you will find that it has been provided with a newer front grille along with latest projector headlamps. The bonnet receives a power bulging. Other features include twin exhausts that have been chrome tipped, aerodynamic spoilers, enhanced roof rails and the provision of placing a spare tyre under the car. The interior has been give beige colored seats that is complimented by its steering wheel, which is wrapped in leather. The gear knob has been highlighted with chrome, the dashboard and door trims have received wood accent. It also boasts of a latest instrument cluster along with speaker grills that are lined with chrome.

The latest Safari Storme gets its power from a 16-valve, 2.2L DICOR common rail engine, which has the capacity to generate a maximum power of 140PS along with a peak torque of 320Nm. The car has been also provided with a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The car has been provided with the ESOF feature that can help shifting the car easily from 2 wheel-drive to 4 wheel-drive.
