Tata Tiago iCNG 2022 Review | All That You Need To Know | Quick Review |

All that you need to know about the new Tata Tiago iCNG. The launch of the CNG models of Tata Motors was delayed due to COVID-19, but the brand has finally launched their iCNG models of the Tiago & Tigor. So if you’re looking out for a CNG powered hatchback, read this post, watch the video and you would will be able to find out whether Tiago CNG beats its rivals or not.

The Tiago remains unchanged in terms of exterior or interior design, what has changed is the use of CNG as a fuel for the BS-6 petrol engine. The Tiago is powered by a 1.2 L three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. When petrol is used as a fuel this engine develops 86 HP & 113 Nm of torque, whereas when driven on CNG, it develops a mere 74 HP & 95 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-Speed Manual or an AMT. however, in the CNG version, the Tiago is only available in a manual transmission. Tata claims that the Tiago iCNG can deliver a fuel efficiency of 26.49 Km/Kg and similarly while running on petrol the Tiago can deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.9 Km/L.  The Tiago also has the biggest engine with respect to cubic capacity in the segment. The Tiago CNG can switch on the engine directly by CNG, which is also a segment-first feature, as all other cars in the CNG segment use petrol for ignition. Tata also claims that with advanced engineering, the Tiago CNG will also be capable to fuel up the cylinders faster than other CNG cars.

In terms of dimensions, the Tiago is the longest and widest in the segment. However, it is shorter in height and wheelbase when compared to the WagonR. Both the WagronR & Celerio offer a wheelbase of 2435 mm which is the longest in the segment. The ground clearance of the CNG Tiago is 168 mm and it weighs 1040 Kg.

In terms of safety, the Tiago is undoubtedly the safest in the segment with a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. it also gets front disc brakes along with, dual airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control and a rear parking camera.

The Tiago CNG is also well equipped with comfort and convenience features like, auto climate control, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, height-adjustable driver seat, cooled glove box. It also gets a Harman touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The music system is paired to an 8 speaker surround sound system. Lastly, the infotainment system can also playback videos and images when the vehicle is stationary.

The Tiago gets sporty design elements like the contrasting black roof, piano black ORVMs, Projector Headlamps, LED DRLs, sporty spoiler & 15” alloy wheels.

The Tiago iCNG is available in five colours, Daytona Grey, Midnight Plum, Flame Red, Arizona Blue & Opal White. The Tiago CNG is offered in five variants and the price starts at Rs 6.09 Lakhs for the base XE variant and tops at Rs 7.64 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the XZ+ DT CNG variant.
