Tata Tigor CNG 2022 Review | All You Need To Know | Quick Review | Tata Tigor iCNG |

The Tigor has been a successful compact sedan for Tata Motors. They had recently launched the electric version of the sedan, and with a good response on alternative fuel options. Tata Motors have just launched the CNG model of the Tigor. If you’re looking out for a CNG powered compact sedan, do read the post and watch the complete video for Tata Tigor iCNG.

There are no changes done to the Tigor in terms of styling and design language,  but what has changed is the use of CNG as a fuel for the BS-6 petrol engine. The Tigor is powered by a 1.2 L three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. When petrol is used as a fuel this engine develops 86 HP & 113 Nm of torque, whereas when driven on CNG, it develops a mere 74 HP & 95 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-Speed Manual or an AMT. However, in the CNG version, the Tigor is only available in a manual transmission. Tata claims that the Tigor iCNG can deliver a fuel efficiency of 26.49 Km/Kg and similarly while running on petrol the Tigor can deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.9 Km/L. The Tigor CNG can switch on the engine directly with CNG, which is also a segment-first feature, as all other cars in the CNG segment use petrol for ignition. Tata also claims that with advanced engineering, the Tigor CNG will also be capable of fueling up the cylinders faster than other CNG cars.

In terms of dimensions, the length of the Tigor is 3992 mm, width is 1677 mm, height is 1537 mm and lastly, it has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The ground clearance of the CNG Tigor is 165 mm and it weighs 1092 Kg. The Tigor had the best boot space in its segment, but now with the CNG tank, the boot space has been reduced to 205 L.

In terms of safety, the Tigor receives a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. It also gets front disc brakes along with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control and a rear parking camera.

The Tigor CNG is also well equipped with comfort and convenience features like, auto climate control, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, height-adjustable driver seat, cooled glove box & a rear defogger. It also gets a Harman touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The music system is paired to an 8 speaker surround sound system. Lastly, the infotainment system can also playback videos and images when the vehicle is stationary.

The Tigor gets sporty design elements like the piano black ORVMs, Projector Headlamps, LED DRLs & 15” alloy wheels.

The Tigor CNG is available in six colours, Daytona Grey, Pure Silver, Magnetic Red, Deep Red, Arizona Blue & Opal White. The Tigor CNG is offered in three variants and the price starts at Rs 7.69 Lakhs for the XZ variant and tops at Rs 8.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the XZ+ DT CNG variant.
