Tata unveils its Manza Hybrid along with the CNG variant of the Nano

Tata Motors has recorded a strong presence at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo with a line up of cars that is targetted mainly for its Indian consumers. At the New Delhi Expo, the Indian auto major is displaying a very basic technical but clever engineering piece. The company has just unveiled its concept car, the Manza Hybrid and is also displaying its serious commitment to this car. The company is making use of its own DICOR engine with three cylinders (termed the 1.05 DICOR) for powering this car.

Additionally, Tata Motors is also making use of a balancer shaft along with a few minor changes in order to increase the fuel efficient characteristics of this engine. The interesting fact that is seen in this car is the source of its electric power has also been provided with an electrical traction motor of 45KW. However, the power is going to be taken from Li-Ion batteries that are very costly. Solar panel on its roof sprinkles certain charge to its Li-Ion batteries. The Manza Hybrid has also become the first Tata car to be provided with bi-xenon headlamps.

This 1.05 DICOR engine will be used to power the Tata Vista. The car is currently being tested with engineers claiming that it will also have the capability of delivering excellent fuel efficiency. In fact, this car is expected to set a new standard as far as the Indian automobile industry is concerned. The 3-cylinder engine has been found to have greater efficiency than the 4-cylinder one. This is because this engine has a lower rate of internal friction along with minimized cubic capacity. Apart from this hybrid concept car, Tata is also showcasing all its latest cars that include the CNG variant of the Tata Nano along with the 4WD Tata Safari Storm.
