Volkswagen introduces IPL edition Polo and Vento

With the country going bonkers about the Indian Premier League season 5, the auto industry doesn’t hold back on taking the advantage on the sales. Starting April 1, 2012, this is the fifth season of the cricket tournament, and the Germans join the party with matching skin for Vento and Polo.

Volkswagen offers IPL Edition II of Polo and Vento on selected variants. While both hatchbacks come as special edition, the cars will feature interactive car pad with multimedia entertainment system. This infotainment system supports sat-nav and social networking options for the rear seat passenger as well. Going with the IPL theme is the dual-tone leather upholstery, special floor mats, doorsill designs and IPL branding gracing the boot.

While being the brand endorser of ‘Indian Premiere League’ cricket championship, the German automaker eyes on improving sales during the season. Previously seen IPL edition car was the VW Vento, and following the immense response the hatch received during the cricketing season, the auto giant plans to add another hatch, the VW Polo to the special edition list. Moreover, the special edition IPL hatchbacks don’t shed extra money from customers.

Announcing the special edition hatchbacks of the VW brand, Mr. Neeraj Garg, member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said “Last year we launched our first action model the Vento IPL Edition and there on introduced the Breeze models of both the Polo and the Vento. The immense response we received towards these special editions has prompted us to continue with the IPL Editions and this time with both our popular carlines-the Polo and the Vento.”

The IPL Editions Polo and Vento will be displayed at the Volkswagen dealerships across the country starting March 15, 2012, while the sales will begin early April.
