Yamaha Teases its First Car Ahead of Tokyo

Yamaha will be showcasing as many as six new vehicles at the Tokyo Motor Show and is lining up one of its most anticipated offering, the 4Wheeler for the same. The 4Wheeler is the first ever car from the brand which is renowned for its bikes and it has teased the first image of the car which it says has been inspired by motorcycles.

In 2013, the company had showcased a MOTIV car concept which was built on a tubular frame and was a two-seater concept vehicle.

According to President and Representative Director of Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., Hiroyuki Yanagi, Yamaha is looking to produce a car and will be looking to diversify business as well. According to him, a huge sum would be required to manufacture a car fit for European markets and that the company was working on a two-seater car for the same.

The 4Wheeler is being rumoured to be an electric motor car and while details are still to be announced, there is a lot of speculation that is surrounding it. According to reports, the car will have power enough to drive within a sufficient range in urban areas and in addition to this, a variant may also be released which will have a 1.0 litre gasoline engine. While all of this is just grapevine now, the Tokyo Motor Show will have a lot more to reveal about Yamaha’s four wheel offering.
