Tata Motors cautions general public against fraudulent promotions

In a league to battle the wrong doings under its name by others, Tata Motors had send us the official words to intimate the general public not to fall prey to fraudulent promotional offers and advertisements which leads to demanding of cash deposits or other way of extracting money from the pockets.

Tata Motors has cautioned potential customers and the general public on fraudulent promotional offers and advertisements wherein amongst other things, the person or group of persons have been wrongfully extracting/ demanding cash deposit(s) in certain specified bank(s) from general public. These individuals are also wrongfully using Tata Motor’s registered trademark to lure public into this trap.

Tata Motors would like to state that these communications are purely made with the intent to defraud the general public and Tata Motors has not authorized any person to require any payment /cash deposit to be made.

The company advised that individuals to exercise caution and not fall prey to any such fraudulent promotional offers purported/claimed to be sent on behalf of Tata Motors. The company has already lodged a police complaint and urged the public not to be misled by any communication which solicits payment or otherwise as part of any promotional scheme.

In recent times, fraudsters have through emails/ sms / unscrupulous newspaper/ television advertisements, promised prizes such as a Tata Motors’ vehicle against caution money deposits. The common modus operandi followed by these fraudsters is to ask prospective buyers / customers to make certain payments towards availing the prizes or a lucky draw. There was also an advertisement released inviting viewers to identify certain filmstars and upon responding they were encouraged to deposit amounts towards registration and transfer of a vehicle and thereafter directed to a Tata Motors facility to collect the vehicle.

Further, Tata Motors’ Intellectual Property Rights have been misused by the unauthorized use of the Company’s name- Tata Motors Ltd., and use of protected names of its vehicles, namely- ‘Tata Safari’, whilst making such unscrupulous newspaper advertisements to lure innocent members of the public to fall into this trap.

Tata Motors urged the public to file a complaint with the local police authorities the moment any caution money was sought from them either for winning a prize or lucky draw.

Ravi Kant retires as Tata Motors Vice Chairman

Tata Motors was facing a good time when Mr Ravi Kant Non-Executive Vice Chairman retired from the Board of the Company on May 31, 2014 on attaining the age of 70 as per the Company’s retirement policy.

The Board of Directors appreciated the contribution of Mr. Ravi Kant during his tenure with the Company including as Managing Director for the period July 29 2005 to June 1, 2009 and thereafter in his capacity as Non-Executive Vice Chairman.

Unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicle Division today launched the new Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicle (ILCV) range of trucks christened ‘Ultra’.

Ultra range of ILCV boasts superior technology and design along with the low cost of ownership. Increased comfort level is claimed to have higher uptime, superior aggregates and customised requirements.

The Ultra range of commercial vehicles were conceived from the platform of Starbus that too are based on the Ultra platform, and are posed as a successful product for servicing the needs of consumers with ultimate comfort for drivers, improved NVH, fuel efficiency, and resulting in lowest total cost of ownership.

The new Tata Ultra range of trucks will come in several variants ranging between the payload capacity of 5 and 15 tonnes. Tata Motors Hiring Sales Personnel and Improving Standards of Dealerships for Zest & Bolt launches

Unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014, launch of the much awaited compact sedan, Zest and dynamic hatchback, Bolt, is creating havoc in the industry. To ravel the path with betterment, Tata Motors in association with its channel partners, announced a huger recruitment drive throughout the nation, hiring a workforce of over 3,000 staff across all Tata Motors full range dealerships.

The heads at company and dealerships are in the process to shortlist and recruit candidates for the roles of Customer Advisors, Team Leaders and Sales Managers. This recruitment drive is stretched to more than 200 dealerships. On the flipside, selected candidates have to go through number of tests and evaluations before joining the company, which are now reprinted for meeting the new customer-service standards.

Tata Motors April 2014 Sales Stood at 33,892 Units: No Progress

Tata Motors is in the need of an ace to shoot all the negativities from its sales floor, and that seems to be in the development – the upcoming models Zest and Bolt for passenger vehicle segment. Right now, while confirming the sales of April 2014, it caught up decline of 34% comparatively to the same period of last year.

Tata Motors reported total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in April 2014 of 33,892 vehicles, where it sold 51,160 vehicles in April 2013. The automaker’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for April 2014 were 30,670 nos., 36% decline over 47,595 nos. sold in April last year.

Tata Nano Twist

Tata Motor’s sales of commercial vehicles (CV) in April 2014 in the domestic market were 23,229 nos., a 36% decline compared to 36,025 vehicles sold in April last year. Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales stood at 14,804 nos., a decline of 43% over April last year, while Medium Commercial Vehicle (MCV) & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) sales were with the minimum decline at 8,425 nos., a retard of 16% over April last year.

Passenger vehicles sales of Tata Motors for April 2014 were at 7,441 nos., down by 36% over 11,570 units sold in April 2013. Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range managed to break through 5,653 nos. in April 2014, lower by 37% over 8,918 vehicles sold in April 2013. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture category resulted 1,788 nos., reporting 33% decline over 2,652 nos., sold in April last year.

The company’s number extracts from exports were 3,222 nos. in April 2014, obviously a decline, but as mere as 10%, compared to 3,565 vehicles of April last year

Hence, it means the launch is quite nearby and the India based carmaker is quite eager looking forward to it.
